Acne - Know What Treatment Can Mean For You

There are numerous ways one can rid themselves of acne; methods that are highly effective and cheap and definitely not time consuming. Chemical peels and alpha hydroxy acid are two successful ways to treat acne pimples that can show up on your cheeks, forehead, back and neck. For those that suffer from this difficult and embarrassing affliction, the following methods are, for some, viable ways to treat acne. The ensuing article will discuss in greater detail the previously mentioned acne treatments, as well as other ways of treating this problem, aiding you in deciding which is the best treatment to choose.

Treating Acne

Acne can be triggered by several different reasons. It is believed this problem is rooted in the changes that occur when one goes through puberty. Some believe in the false notion that acne is caused by dirty skin. The reality is that cleansing your skin will neither prevent acne from appearing on your face, nor will it help you to get rid of it. For those that suffer from adult acne, the same rule applies. No matter the age, thoroughly cleansing your skin is essential as this eliminates sebum and dead skin cells.

Understand that cleansing the skin with alcoholic detergents and exfoliant creams can actually irritate your skin. Instead it is better to cleanse your face twice a day with a very mild cleanser. When it comes to understanding the cause of, and the treating of acne, there are various biological factors that come into play. Treating this most bothersome ailment is not as simple as washing your face several times a day. Given the above reality, it is essential to know how best to effectively treat adult acne.

Adult Acne Treatment- What works, What Doesn’t

Acne can last well into your adult years. In this instance, acne occurs usually on the face, but can also afflict the body as well. Men are usually more likely to suffer from acne than women. Acne in women usually can strike around the time one has their period. With some individuals, acne can happen at any time.

Acne is not directly caused by certain foods that are ingested; however there are some food substances that can actually irritate your skin. Understand that by sticking to specific diet you will not prevent acne from affecting you.

There are some that falsely believe foods such as chocolate, alcohol, oysters, etc., will trigger off breakouts. However there is virtually no scientific data proving this popular notion to be true. At the same time it is still wise to avoid foods that are considered to be unhealthy as there still remains the possibility that they could very well actually cause acne. There are a variety of effective ways to eliminate acne. These include acne rosacea treatment, and laser acne treatment.

Alpha Hydroxy Acid- A Great Way of Treating Acne

Commonly known as ascorbic acid, this treatment zero’s in on getting rid of excessive oil in the skin. By doing so, there is less of a chance one’s skin will break out. This treatment will also rid the skin of dead cells-the result; your face looks healthier and less irritated. This can be used for both mild and severe acne.

Chemical Peels

Peels work in that a dermatologist applies a specific chemical to the skin. The result is that the skin blisters and then the substance is peeled off.

Treatments For Acne-Final

Acne can be cured in a variety of ways, from laser treatments and peels, to homemade cures. A dermatologist can suggest the best course of action.

Middle Age Women Acne Be Gone

For women who have suffered with acne since their teens and they continue to suffer through adulthood. Middle age women take heart! Acne be gone! It will be your time to finally ditch the acne. But in the meantime what causes women to deal with acne for so many years?

Hormonal imbalances are mostly responsible for acne in adult women, and God knows us women have a lot of hormone imbalances! Premenstrual, menses, pregnancy, and child birth all affect our hormones. We spend half our life on the hormone rollercoaster. And with that rollercoaster ride comes the dreaded acne.

If that’s not enough oestrogen and testosterone imbalances can easily occur from stress or medication. Something as simple as having an IUD device or taking Depo Provera, both methods of birth control, can lead to acne.

When the hormones are out of balance your body produces extra sebum which is any oily secretion of the skin. This clogs the pores and causes those dreaded zits.

Some women never have a pimple until they hit their thirties. Talk about a real shock. This usually occurs when they decide it’s time to go off the pill. Birth control helps balance hormones and for many it keeps acne at bay. So it may not be that they were ever immune to acne just that it’s been so long they never realized they would have pimples.

Some vitamins can also cause acne. Vitamin B supplements and Vitamin E creams are known to cause acne break outs. On the other hand taking zinc orally has shown positive effects to eliminate acne in studies.

There are other conditions that are often mistaken for acne. Conditions such as acne rosacea, keratosis, or perioral dermatitis are often confused as acne. If you are unsure what you are dealing with make an appointment to see your dermatologist.

What Triggers Acne in Women and What You Can Do to Help Prevent it

Most of the medicines which are available in the market to cure acne are just temporary solutions to the acne. These medicines do not work affectively on the main cause of acne from where this issue gets generated. This is the reason why most of the people do not believe on these medicines because when they stop taking pills the acne came back they again have to face the trouble. What people need from these medicines is the permanent relief. For this the medicines manufacturer has to do a research so that they can find one permanent solution to resolve this issue.

To find the permanent solution one must know that what the real cause of the acne is. Usually it is believed that acne occurs when a human body carries much more toxics which the kidney and bowels can together remove. Kidneys and bowels are the only two body organs which help in removing the waste from the body which is also named as toxic. When the amount of toxic exceeds and gets out of the reach of kidneys as well as of the bowels then he acne arises.

These toxics could be anything but in the most cases it is the accumulation of the stored fat chemicals which even liver can not wash out. This is one of the most common reasons but there could be many more like issue regarding the fat digestion, food allergy etc. Apart from these, food allergy and the accumulation of body produced hormones could be the other reasons. All of these factors may look different but they have a same impact on a human body and that is the acne.

This is necessary to stop the production or control the production increase of these toxics because even if once they get overloaded then they may not let the kidneys and the bowels do their work properly. When this situation arises that is if the kidneys and the bowels are not able to tackle with the toxics then the entire pressure goes to the liver and then it is very hard for the liver also to resist in such conditions.

The main and the primary function, which liver is known for, that is to metabolize and convert the extra fat in to the energy which can be used by the body when needed. This work can only be performed by the liver but in such cases even the liver gets overloaded because at this stage the liver has to perform his function as well as the work which usually kidneys do. Usually an overloaded liver can not work up to its fullest because the liver too has limitations.

This condition can arise in any human body that the kidneys, liver and the bowels are not working perfectly and also there are chances that the person affected by it is not aware at all. At this stage the entire workload gets transferred to the lungs as well as to the skin and only because of this the skin gets breakout and acne occurs.

Is an Acne Treatment a Good Idea for George?

“This is the END of my life!” George screamed.

…The day had started normally enough, but it had somehow taken a DRASTIC turn for the worse. And quickly too..

You see, George had woken up early that morning. He had turned on the water for his shower & looked around for his towel…

Everything SEEMED to be OK today at 1st & George was excited to get to school a little early. Getting a jump on the day would put him ahead of the pack…

But, today was going to be different. VERY different..

He looked in the mirror, expecting to see a beautiful clear face looking back at him…then, george saw “it.” He was shocked….He noticed a few pimples forming on his cheeks, big red areas of pimples were starting to form everywhere he looked.

Ohhh no..ACNE!

George was shocked. And he was MAD too! An acne outbreak was the last thing he needed…He quickly fired up his computer & got online. He did some quick searches to try to find out WHY he was experiencing this frustrating outbreak. He couldn’t find any easy answers…”Why me- why now?” is what George kept asking as he got ready for school.

He knew that once pimples started forming on his face, they might develop into a much larger acne problem..How embarrassing!…Was this going to be a permanent thing? Was he going to have acne for the rest of his life?

Quite frankly, this was the last thing George wanted to see. George didn’t want a face full of acne, he had enough problems as it was. What he wanted was to look into the mirror & see a clear face. He wanted smooth skin that would make him look as good as possible to the outside world…

He Knew What Was Coming…

…A few of George’s friends had had major acne problems before..and he HAD heard the stories. He’d heard all about the pain, the embarrassment, & especially the frustration….

“Ohhh mannn…how can I get rid of this acne” is all George could think about…”Why do I have to have acne?”

Why would he want to get of that acne?

For a whole BUNCH of reasons…

1)George was trying to make himself more attractive to the opposite sex as it was…He wanted to date more & having a face full of acne wasn’t exactly going to help him accomplish that.

2)He desperately needed a big boost in self confidence & having an acne outbreak wouldn’t exactly help in him in this department either.

3)George just plain didn’t have the time to deal with acne. He was working 2 jobs as it was. Where was he going to find the extra hours to deal with his skin problems? He had absolutely no idea!

4)The physical pain. While it was rare, occasionally acne can cause REAL physical pain. George could deal without that..that’s for sure!

5)Acne is embarrassing too. When George’s classmates saw that he was coming to school every few days with big red pimples all over his face, they’d take notice. Boy, would they ever notice…He knew he’d never hear the end of this….

So, what are George’s options here….what should he do to clear up his skin?

George should invest in a natural acne treatment…one that allows him to clear up his skin the natural way…

After his acne clears, his quality of life will increase 10 fold….George would see a clear natural face in no time flat…and he’d say goodbye to the nasty remarks of his classmates too…

The Kicker

Here’s the best part: George’s acne can be treated up quicker than he ever dreamed possible, MUCH quicker…But, only if he uses an acne treatment that’s right for him……

So, which acne treatment product should George choose?

Warning….The answer may SHOCK you!

Help for Teenagers With Acne

If you are a teenager with acne, you are definitely not alone. Here are some recent statistics regarding teenagers, adults, and acne:

* 3 out of 4 teenagers will get acne.

* 90 - 95% of teenagers will have some form of acne in their teen years and into their early 20’s.

* Almost all people will have some type of acne starting either in their teens, or in later years, as adults.

Acne is a condition that a lot of teenagers are dealing with, and it needs to be understood.

The good news is that acne can be treated with conventional methods, such as antibiotics, medications, chemical peels, and laser treatments, and also with natural methods such as diet, herbs, vitamin supplements and naturally based cleansers.

The not so good news is that some teens with acne lose their self confidence and become withdrawn and anti-social. Some become so pre-occupied with how they look that the mirror takes up too much of their time and they purposely miss out on social gatherings with their friends. Some feel they will be treated differently and looked down upon, and opt to stay home as much as possible. Some even get depressed and start failing in school, thinking that the acne will never go away and they are doomed to be an outcast. This is faulty thinking and there is no need for it.

As stated above, acne can be treated in a variety of ways, and every teenager with acne needs to discuss treatment options with their doctor, or if desired, a dermatologist.

A Few Suggestions To Remember That Will Help:

* Get Enough Sleep - sleep allows the body to heal and helps the body’s defense systems to function properly.

* Drink Enough Water - at Least 8 glasses per day - water flushes the system of impurities.

* Watch Your Diet - what you eat can either help or hurt you. Studies have shown that teenagers with acne should avoid: hot, spicy foods, high-fat foods, alcohol of any kind, coffee, “junk foods”, too much sugar, and anything fried.

* Don’t Stress Out - about acne, or anything else. Stress causes acne to get worse. If you tend to get stressed easily - try Yoga and meditation, which are very relaxing to both body and mind.

* Get Enough Exercise - exercise makes sweat which expels toxins from the body. Exercise also allows oxygenated blood to nourish your skin cells, and, as an added bonus - it keeps your mood up.

* Don’t Irritate Acne - by touching or squeezing the blemishes. This will inflame the acne and make it worse.

* Use Noncomedogenic products - noncomedogenic products won’t cause skin pores to get blocked, making it less likely for acne to develop. Look for the word “noncomedogenic” on the labels of all hair and skin products.

4 Positive Effects of Natural Acne Treatment

Acne begins around the age of puberty. This may be different for each individual. For some, acne is an occasional pimple that shows up at the wrong time. For others, it can be a total nightmare with breakout after breakout leaving behind scars and damage. All one needs to do is look at the money being spent on multiple acne treatment options to know this is a real problem. Known as the most common disease of the skin to American culture, acne treatment totals have reached into the billions of dollars each year and continues to rise. The four things listed below, among others, can be gained by using natural treatment choices to help cure skin acne breakouts. They are also cheaper than the over the counter choices.

Normal Hormone Production

Natural treatment choices help to regulate the hormone production of the body. It also keeps the hormone levels at a good number. This single benefit will allow your skin to look great and stay clear. Natural acne treatment options give rejuvenation, fortification, and strength to the internal systems of the body which are key elements in eliminating waste and keeping hormones at proper levels. Puberty is the time for hormonal changes in the body. So the faster you can gain control again, the better chance of stopping the acne outbreaks early.

Natural Cleansing Choice

Natural acne treatment options aid the body in ridding itself of the toxins naturally and permanently. The system blockages are eliminated, allowing the main organs to, once again, clean and maintain themselves in a proper way. Hormone irregularities can be controlled internally, reducing the amount of future breakouts that occur. Microorganisms can cause stress on the system and be the determining factor in the blockage. When the stress is reduced, the body has control over itself again. Stress has been determined to be one of the leading factors in many illnesses and diseases including acne.

Environmental Element Control

When one goes the natural route with acne and chooses to live healthy, the external factors that contribute to acne are reduced. Bacteria on the outer layers of skin can be spread from pore to pore, making the outbreaks larger and more serious. The environment is full of toxins that can lead to infection and the spread of acne. The outside influences on your skin will determine the clarity it has as well as how healthy, vibrant and glowing it will appear.

Maintenance For The Long Run

Healthy options for clearing acne will not only clear the present breakouts but keep the skin clear for the long run. The entire body system will be free and clean to work as it should eliminating the waste and toxins that cause one to be sick. Only through the use of natural alternatives will you find an acne free lifestyle. Your bank account will also be stress free knowing that these acne treatment choices are also very affordable options to consider for yourself.

How To Fade Acne Scars With Make-Up!

Have you had success covering your acne scars with makeup? No one likes to have visible acne scars on their faces. For some, acne scars can actually get in the way of their daily life. While there are a variety of treatments for acne scarring available, you can also reduce their appearance by using make up. So, what makeup do you need to cover acne scars? Some of the best makeup tips are listed below.

Concealer

Among the various makeup options that you can choose from to cover your acne scars, one of the best strategies is to use concealers. A concealer should be applied after foundation in order to prevent discolorations from becoming visible. Be sure to select a concealer that is the best match for your individual skin tone. Apply around the areas that contain acne scars to reduce their overall appearance.

Foundation

Foundation is applied over your entire face in a thin layer. In order to create the best overall appearance, work with a makeup professional to ensure that you have a solid color match. Foundation is one of the best kinds of makeup to cover acne scars. Blot onto the skin with a sponge in order to get the best coverage without discoloration.

Highlighting

Highlighting with makeup to cover acne scars involves using a light, often shiny powder to certain parts of your face. The goal is to provide focus points, drawing attention to positive features and away from features that you are looking to conceal. The best places to apply highlights to your skin to conceal acne scars are in the inside portion of your eyelid, right under your eyebrow and then at the top portion of your cheekbones.

Accenting your Top Facial Features

When looking to minimize the appearance of scars on your face with makeup, another one of the available options that works is to accentuate your top facial features. For example, if you have great lips, wear a bold lipstick. If you have captivating eyes, use eyeliners and eye shadows to accentuate those features. By drawing attention to specific features, you are keeping attention from being directed to the areas that include acne scars.

Makeup is not intended for removing acne scars, but can be a great option for reducing their appearance. To learn how to use the above techniques in the best way for your skin and facial features, talk with a makeup professional.

Acne Prevention, Lifestyle and Diet!

There are several things that you might term as a homemade remedy, that you can try to clear up your scarring. While these methods will not be effective in removing acne scars, they are often successful at improving the overall appearance of the skin. For some simple things to apply topically to the skin, consider fresh cucumbers, lemon juice or tomato juice. Each of these natural topical applications will improve the natural glow that the skin gives off. You can also consider tea tree oil, a proven acne preventative and an antibacterial agent.

In addition to applying these solutions topically, it is important to eat a diet full of antioxidants. There are a variety of fruits and vegetables that have high antioxidant concentrations. Antioxidants work to reduce free radical damage to the skin, improving the overall appearance. Also, drink at least 8-10 glasses of water to ensure that your skin is hydrated. Water is crucial for creating a healthy skin appearance.
