What's the best foundation for red, blotchy, skin?
Unfortunately, my skin is pretty sensitive and I’m prone to getting spots. Not full blown acne, but say 1 zit a week. Sometimes my skin is oily.. sometimes it’s dry! It can’t seem to make up its mind. I also seem to scar easily, so I have a bunch of red flecks on my face that take ages to heal.

Can anyone recommend a foundation to soothe and coverup bad skin? I’ve tried Dr. Hauschka and that’s ok, but not such a great shade match or coverup.

    Help!

(If anyone has any skin-care tips to share with me, please feel free)

use tee tree oil every time you get a zit. just dab a little on the spot. its very concentrated and will dry up the zit in 3 days if you apply it to the spot each night. or to ensure you wont get these weekly zits, mix a drop of TTO with your moisturizer and apply as you normally would.

for skin prone to redness use what is called a ‘yellow-based foundation’
go to sephora and ask them about this and they willl help you find the best shade of yellow based foundation. they may even find a suitable one for you that will even calm your skin so it doesnt appear as red and irritated

once you find a foundation, this will be your bff:

    Well here is some advice:

Do NOT poke your zits when they are red, wait untill they are yellow-ish.

Before you go to bed put some toothpaste on your zit. I know it sounds really weird, but i sooo helps! The next morning the zit is totally dry and easy to take care of.

Clean your face every night before going to bed.
Start with a cleanser, then use a skin tonic, and then you use a moisturizing lotion.

If you do not have time for the whole cleanser, tonic, and lotion just wash you face in normal water, and of course remove ALL make up first.

The foundation you can use is this one:

    Its good for sensitive skin.

Hope you could use my advice! :)
    Good luck!

No matter what foundation you use unless you lag it on won’t cover redness. You need to get a green concealer stick which will counter-act the redness, cover the redness with the green, cover the green with a normal colour concealer and the apply your foundation over the top and voila! Pefect skin :]

OK, since you said you have zits, don’t pop them. Your nails are filthy, everyone are. So bacteria gets in it and scars it. The make-up I suggest is Clinique. They have Clinique in Macy’s and sometimes Nordstorm. Clinique is for ANY skin type and hypoallergenic. Works great. Try finding one the also have skin care, too. Look at their site.

I’m not sure exactly what you could do, but if you have fairly light skin, you could try a little bit of white powder, it evens out your skin a little and makes it look smoother. You can find it at hot topic or costume (or theater) stores, or possibly other places online

just use tea tree oil or an astringent to get rid of any zits!
use a green toned concealer under your foundation (which since it is found on the opposite end of the colour wheel will counteract your redness)!
if ure skin is a little sensitive, then try and switch to mineral makeup..try bareminerals.com or sephora =)
