Genital Acne: Not Many Of Us Know About It!

Not many of us are aware of the fact that acne can also appear in our genital area. Normally, we believe that acne affects the face, neck, chest and back area only. But acne can go beyond that. Genital area is another part of the body that can be harshly affected by it.

One can start the treatment of genital acne as soon as their physician determines the existing skin breakout on these sensitive areas as genital acne. Acne appears in the genital area in form of lumps, and at times these lumps might indicate a sexually transmitted disease or some other problem.

Contrary to the popular belief, even those who are leading a very hygienic life and take several baths in a day may suffer from acne lumps in genitals. It can occur if your skin is allergic to particular things and may also be caused due to blockage of pores.

As stated above, genital lumps do not always indicate sexually transmitted disease because there are several causes for them. They may be caused by sweating, sports tools or apparel and sometimes even due to the washing detergent or soap you are using.

You can minimize the occurrence of genital acne with the help of frequent bathing or by replacing the brand of your soap. It is also possible that despite all care one may not see the kind of improvement one expects. In that case one should take the help of an expert immediately.

It has been observed that treatment for genital acne requires a month or two to show some signs of improvement. So it is advisable not to change the treatment in a hurry and give the required time to your treatment.

In some treatments, the acne problem gets worse before getting better. So do not howl at that time, as it will soon turn positive. They might give trouble but popping the pimples is not solution and can worsen the situation and may lead to scars.

So, just take it easy. Take the precautions mentioned above and if the problem persists, do contact a specialist, and do as he says. Keep up with your hygienic habits and things would improve very soon.

Adopt Natural Ways To Treat Your Acne

If you don’t wish to invite more diseases in the process of treating your acne, go for natural treatments and remedies. They are good on many counts. They are cheap and effective. They do their job silently. With natural treatments, there is no psychological fear attached which normally exists with other treatment options such as injections and antibiotics. Natural acne treatment is the best, viewed from any angle.

Over the counter natural medications are also available in plenty these days. Mostly they are the plant extracts. They fight the bacteria and subdue the pimples by tackling the inflammation. The contents of ingredients of most of these products are the same. They contain vitamin E.

Tea tree oil for the treatment of acne is known for centuries. It is very effective. If you like the oral medicine, mix the herbal extracts of burdock, yellow dock, cleavers and sarsaparilla. Take half teaspoon of this mix, three times a day.

Now, come to the diet part of it. Eat plenty of fruits, seasonal vegetables and whole grains. Drink ten glasses of water daily. Avoid refined sugar and fried foods.

Stress is said to be the cause of acne. If not the cause, it is certainly the promotional agent. Avoid it in the most natural way by doing yoga, exercises, and breathing exercises. Body massage and meditation are also beneficial for this. Massage helps blood circulation and many of the skin problems, including acne get benefit out of this method.

Before you buy any skin related product, firstly apply your mind, why you should not buy it. Don’t go by advertisements, and other sales gimmicks. Carefully check the packaging for the expiry date and the inscription, “non-comedogenic.”

Don’t treat your face like the construction site. You need not have a heavy foundation. It may be quite irritating. And anything that is irritating is harmful to the skin also. Do give proper consideration to the existence of pimples. Don’t prick or squeeze them. They have come to stay, but not for ever. Let them depart on a happy note and you don’t be the cause of their extended stay on your face. The excessive and wrong medication could become responsible factor for their longer stay.

Your unhealthy skin is due to what is going on within your body. Flush out the intoxicants within your body, by taking lots of fruits and fibrous diet. The seasonal fruits are nature-given remedies. Therefore, they need to be treated like food plus medicines.

Avoid junk food at all costs. Eating them is sheer waste of money. They have no calorie value as such and digesting such food is done on a hard note.

“Your food is your grave,” said the famous author Bernard Shaw. Your food is your acne as well!

Acne Remedies That Work

Whether you’re a teenager with so-called spotty skin, or an adult with facial blemishes, acne can strike at any age. Although there are many kinds of treatment available both in shops and over the counters at pharmacies, many people are unaware that there is also a multitude of home remedies that can be used to combat acne. From herbal to homeopathic, and even everyday vitamins, the choice is bigger than you think.

One of the easiest, and also one of the safest, forms of remedies is via vitamins. Depending on availability, you can use either vitamin A or E, or a more specialized form, such as niacin. If you are using this type of acne remedy, check with your pharmacist or doctor with regard to the safe dosage. Another vitamin that can be used is vitamin C, with a water-soaked citrus peel being placed onto the required area proving quite effective.

One of the most often ignored, yet successful, types of acne remedy is normal household garlic. By taking fresh cloves and rubbing them over your skin as you would a facial cloth or sponge, it’s an excellent substitute for actual acne cream or ointment, and people who have tried this method have seen their skin clear up in a reasonably short time. Eating garlic is another good tool in battling acne, as it helps to keep your blood stream clean, thus avoiding any dirty pores.

Aloe vera is also easy to come by in the home, and is one of the more soothing methods you can use. Since it is a soothing derivative usually found in after shave balm or cleanser, it shouldn’t give you any inflammatory reaction, either. By rubbing it into your face in the morning and before you go to bed, it will offer improved skin complexion as well as help to reduce the effects of the acne itself. Even better, if you have an actual aloe vera plant, the leaf can be rubbed on the face for good results, too.

Although many sufferers are advised not to expose their skin to excessive heat, a home sun bed can actually help benefit an acne complaint. As long as it’s used in moderation and under professional instruction, it works by drying the skin and therefore killing the bacteria that causes acne in the first place. Another remedy with heat being used as a source of relief is a hot bath filled with normal Epsom salts, which you can buy from any good drugstore or supermarket.

Although specialized creams and ointments are usually the best methods to dealing with this frustrating affliction, you shouldn’t discount home remedies if you’re an acne sufferer. Not only are they cheaper, they can sometimes yield quicker results, and to anyone who’s had acne, that’s the only thing that really matters at the end of the day.

Acne laser treatment is an innovative procedure that can help you get rid of acne and acne scarring once and for all. No more will you feel self-conscious from the blemishes on your skin. Let’s take a closer look at how laser treatment can help you.

If you have had acne in the past, you may have a good amount of scarring from it - whether it is scarring on your face, neck, arms, or shoulders (or even on other parts of your body). You may have scarred skin due to the fact that your acne consisted of pimples deep within your skin that formed cysts. Or, you may even have had scarring if you were impatient with your pimples to heal, and you popped them. No matter why your skin became scarred, it is most likely true that you don’t wish to go through the rest of your life with the scars putting a blemish on your image.
Dermatologists can treat acne scars with a variety of different cremes, topical solutions, dermabrasion treatments, and chemical peel treatments. But these things do not always work or work very well. Some of these procedures sometimes also cause additional scarring. However, acne laser treatment is one sure way to rid yourself from the scarring caused by acne.

Lasers are now used to treat acne scars. These lasers can make up to 83% of acne scarring go away during the first treatment procedure. Lasers first focus on the bacteria that is caused by acne. They zap away this unwanted bacteria, take redness out of the skin, and then focus on stimulating collagen production to make the skin healthier. The whole procedure is usually pain-free, and only feels a tiny bit prickly. Many patients that receive acne laser treatment require at least four to five treatments for the scarring to completely go away.

Oftentimes, after a patient has an acne laser treatment, he or she will leave the doctor’s office with extremely flushed skin. He or she may even have an acne breakout in the hours or days following the procedure. This is normal, and it often clears itself up soon after.

If you do have an acne laser treatment, you should be prepared to pay a high price of a few hundred dollars per treatment session. Also keep in mind that most health insurance companies do not cover acne laser treatments of any kind.

Once you have had your acne treated with a laser, it is best for you to take extremely good care of your skin. Make sure that it is always moisturized by using cremes and other topical solutions. You should also be sure to use a product - whether it is a sun screen or a type of creme - that has some sort of SPF protection from the sun in it. You should also keep your skin clean by regularly washing with moisturizing soaps and body washes. These things will keep your skin soft, healthy, and looking radiant.

Over Night Acne Patches And Other Unique Acne Treatments

Acne is a skin condition in which lesions form on the skin. The cause of the lesions is the blockage of follicle duct of sebaceous glands. The sebum gets trapped and inflammation occurs in the skin. This inflammation gets infected by a bacterium P.Acnes found naturally in skin. There are various acne therapy available.

Overnight acne patches contain medicines like Benzoyl peroxide, triclosan, chlorhexidine gluconate, salicylic acid, glycolic acid, erythromycin, clindamycin, tetracycline, tretinoin, adapaline, retinol, isotretinoin etc. These medicines have different effect. Anti bacterials like benzoyl proxide kill bacteria thereby reducing acne in bacterial acne therapy. Skin defoliants like salicylic acid peel skin on a micro level to open the pores in skin exfoliation acne therapy. Antibiotics like erythromycin kill bacteria by antibiotic action in antibiotic acne therapy. Retinoids like tretinoin reduce acne by regulating the life cycle of follicle cells in retinoidal acne therapy.

The overnight acne patches are to be applied on the affected area before going to sleep. Cleaning the area with acne cleanser and soft moisturizer before applying overnight acne patches will help a lot. In the morning the patches may be removed and discarded.

Other unique treatments include phototherapy. In phototherapy the affected area is irradiated with a particular wavelength of light. The irradiation kills the bacteria by producing free radicals in porphyrins of the bacteria. Applying delta-aminolevulinic acid (ALA) to the affected area increases the effectiveness of phototherapy. The effectiveness of phototherapy is about 75% almost as effective as benzoyl peroxide. There are no side effects in phototherapy. The medicines listed here are to be taken only after consultation with a doctor.

There are other alternative acne remedies like azelaic acid, zinc, sulfur, chromium and insulin available. However the studies on these are still continuing and the effectiveness or their working mechanism is not known.

Most acne treatment is given in conjunction with food supplements like acuzine, as acuzine helps in early recovery of the skin. Acuzine has beneficial ingredients, vital vitamins and chemicals needed for the acne treatment to be successful.
