How do I use acne treatment (Clean and Clear)?

I recently bought the 3-in-1 Clean and Clear set and I don’t know how to use it. The set includes the continuous control cleanser, oil-free moisturizer and the acne spot treatment. I don’t know how to use the creams or if I use them together or separately. I have pretty bad acne and I really want to get rid of it. Somebody please help me.

Before trying any treatment, I suggest you read this informational source that listed the most effective acne treatments available:

Is there any good acne treatment that doesn't dry out your skin?

I have acne and any treatment that i have tried has dried up my skin and caused it to flake and look really bad. Is there any treatment for it that works well and fast but doesn't dry up my skin??

Have you been using drying ingredients line Benzoyl Peroxide? Benzoyl Peroxide is an excellent acne treatment, but tends to dry people out that do not have an oily skin type. Also, are you moisturizing daily? Even though you have acne, you still need to moisturize your skin daily.

Take a look at these other products that have hydrating properties:

Cleanser: B Kamins Hydrating Acne Wash (Can be found at SkinStore.com or Bkamins.com)

Treatment: Boscia Willow Bark Breakout Treatment (can also be found at Skinstore.com or Spalook.com.

Hydrator: Kinerase Clear Skin Moisture Light or La Roche Posay Effaclar Matte (Can be found at both SkinStore.com and Spalook.com)

What are good acne products I can buy at the drugstore that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid?

I have adult acne. It´s not really bad, but I want to try to clear it up.
Help!

I used isotretinoin (roaccutane) tablets to get rid of my acne but since it has cleared i have been using the neutrogena visibly clear products to keep it that way. I use the lotion which contains salicylic acid and the oil free daily moisturizer which also helps prevent blemishes and once or twice a week i use the gentle exfoliating scrub it is also a good idea to carry the 8 hour facial wipes with you just incase you skin starts to feel oily you can quickly resolve the problem on the go. Make sure your not exfoliating too much (more than 2-3 times a week) as this just agrivates the acne - i know how you may think that exfoliating more means the skin cells renew themselves quicker but this is not the case it only spreads the acne, also avoid wearing you hair on your face as a cover up as this again just spreads the day to day dirt and products caught up in your hair. It really has helped keep my skin smooth, oil free, and reducing scars.

Your Quick Guide to Facts About Acne Scars

As a registered nurse, I have learned a lot over the years about acne scars, acne scar treatments, and acne scar removal.

Acne is one of most common skin conditions in the world, affecting more than 40 million Americans. Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years old have acne, most often on the face, chest and back.

But acne isn’t restricted to any one age group. Adults who are in their 20s, 30s and even into their 40s can get acne.

Most cases of acne do respond to treatment and clear up without leaving any scars. Healed acne leaves scars in some people however, and it isn’t easy to predict who will end up with scars after an acne outbreak and who won’t.

Severe, inflamed, cystic acne always leaves scars after healing. And in some people even superficially inflamed acne can result in scarring.

Whether acne scarring is deep or superficial, extensive or scattered, the end result can be less than desirable and even disturbing.

Acne scars can give the skin an aging look. Scars may also contribute to a person looking older than their age as the skin loses its elasticity over the years.

A number of treatments are currently available to remove or improve acne scars. The type and depth of the scars influences the choice of treatment.

Here are some basic facts about acne scars:

Facts about the types of acne scars: Acne scars result from increased tissue formation, response to the inflammation of acne and loss of tissue.

Facts about increased tissue formation: Scars caused by increased tissue formation are caused by a build-up of collagen in the skin. These are called hypertrophic and keloid scars.

Keloids usually are found among several family members. There is a genetic predisposition to form keloids after tissue injury. For example, African-Americans often are prone to keloid formation. Some families also tend to more so, form hypertrophic or thickened scars.

Facts about scars resulting from loss of tissue: Acne scars resulting from loss of tissue are more common than scars resulting from increased tissue formation.

There are several types. They are ice-pick scars, depressed fibrotic scars, superficial and deep soft scars, and atrophic macules.

Ice-pick scars get their name from the way they look. They may be superficial or deep, are usually small and have steep sides like an ice-pick wound. They may be hard or soft.

The soft scars are usually more superficial and the hard scars are usually deeper. The bottom of the hard scar under the skin may be wider than the scar at the surface of the skin.

Depressed fibrotic scars are usually large scars that have sharp edges and steep sides. They look very much like deep chicken pox scars.

Superficial and deep soft scars vary in size. They have sloping edges that merge with normal skin.

Atrophic macules are soft, flat scars that often have a bluish or violet color on white skin due to the underlying blood vessels. These macules tend to fade away over time and become less obvious.

Acne scars are an ongoing reminder of a common skin condition that can cause embarrassment and social isolation. Acne scars can also contribute to the appearance of premature aging.

The good news is that today, there are several types of treatments to choose from for acne scar removal,. See your dermatologist or dermatologic surgeon for the best acne scar treatment for you.

Home Remedies For Acne And Zits

Many teenagers are all too aware of what Acne is, just incase you have forgotten, or just blocked the whole experience out of your memory, acne is an inflamed skin condition. It is so damaging for the lives of teenagers because it appears as hundreds of spots on their face, and also on upper body parts. This condition does not only affect teenagers however.

People think that the excess secretion of oils by the skin glands causes acne, which is actually an inflammation of the sebaceous glands and the follicles of the hair. Though almost everyone experiences some form of acne during some time of their life, acne varies in form, appearance and severity from person to person.

As we have already mentioned acne is caused by the excess secretion of oil. The hormone androgen is responsible for the amount of oil secreted by our body tissues, therefore the underlying reason for acne could be an excess of androgen. Acne is categorized into different types, Juvenile Acne, Acne Vulgarias, Chronic Acne, Pickers Acne, Cosmetic and fringe Acne, Body Acne and Back Acne.

Acne is not particularly threatening, it is just a skin disorder that normally clears up all by itself. Therefore it does not usually require any costly medical treatments. Most outbreaks of mild acne can be treated successfully by applying some remedies in the comfort of your own home:

First you need a good Acne Cleanser, Milk of Magnesia is one such product that is available on the market. This is one of the best known cleansers that helps clear up excess oil, hopefully resolving your acne problem. The solution should be applied to the affected area, and left for around 10 minutes, then it should be rinsed off with warm water. This procedure removes any excess oil from your skin and also unclogs the pores of your skin, normally relieving most forms of mild acne.

Then you should look at removing blackheads, blackheads and acne go hand in hand with one another. Removal of these black heads is a necessary step in the treatment of Acne and for this applying a product like Epsom salt could be considered. A teaspoon of Epsom salt is dissolved in some warm water, this makes a solution which should be amply applied to the affected areas using cotton wool. These solutions help in the easy removal of blackheads.

Lastly you should look at preventing any infections. Acne becomes inflamed, and very sensitive to the touch. It is very important to consider the inflammation, sensitivity and tenderness of the affected areas when treating acne at home. For this add 2 to 3 drops of Tr. of Benzion in a cup of cold water, this solution should then be applied to the affected area and rinsed off with cold water. This is a well known antibacterial solution and so this effectively prevents and cures any minor infections in the affected areas.

If your form of acne is serious then it is best to go to visit your doctor to get it sorted out. If you ever experience any discomfort when using any of these home remedies then it is important to stop using them and consult your doctor.

Cure Your Acne Forever

There is hope — keep researching, learning and testing and you’ll find the right treatment for you. While most forms of acne are merely troublesome or embarrassing, there are some forms of acne that can lead to scarring and pitting of the skin. If you or someone you love suffers from acne - what you want to know is what you can do about it.

Nearly 80 percent of people from ages 11 to 30 years have acne, most often on the face, chest and back. Acne vulgaris is most commonly experienced around puberty, typically of the face, shoulders and chest. There are several different types of acne. Acne will affect almost every person at some stage of their life.

Scientists are trying to find the cause of acne and working on ways to prevent plugs. Check your shampoo to make sure it isn’t causing pimples or other breakouts on your forehead. I think the cause of acne is related to our acidic, inflammatory ’standard American diet’ (SAD) and that would also influence all of our hormones including stress hormones.

It’s easy to treat acne cheaply, simply, naturally, yet effectively, at home. If you wear make-up choose it carefully; it should be oil free. Make sure to stay out of the sun if you’re taking any acne medications.

A new, non-invasive treatment using red light and blue light in combination has been extremely successful on severe acne. A skin specialist in New York is using the new red light-blue light combination therapy to treat severe cases of acne successfully; ask your skin doctor or dermatologist if he’s familiar with it. One treatment method some people have used is applying cornstarch, egg whites or milk of magnesia as a facial mask.

Coconut oil is one of the best, if not the best, treatments I’ve found for acne. Try not to touch your affected skin to eliminate possible contamination. Use baking soda on a test area carefully for exfoliation, if you feel you need it.

When you wash your face use a soft touch, taking care not to rub or scrub your skin. Make sure not to use hot water on your face, always use lukewarm water. Use only products that have natural ingredients or try to use fewer products to allow your skin to heal naturally.

It’s always best to seek non-invasive and natural treatment for any skin condition. Acne prone, sensitive skin can get irritated by using astringents, skin toners, rubbing alcohol, facial masks, make-up and certain hair care products.

Besides external acne treatment it’s even more important to work from the inside out too. Whether you eat a natural diet of living fruits and vegetables or eat dead junk food, what you eat may have a direct or indirect affect on the male hormones which may or may not play some part in acne. When your liver gets overloaded with toxins it’ll send the toxins out through your skin as well as other organs of elimination.

Essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with inflammatory conditions such as eczema and acne. Adding a lot of fresh, raw fruit to the diet has helped many people clear their skin up; there are tons of vitamins, minerals and other nutrients in fruits.

Concentrating on a diet, of mostly fruits and vegetables (preferably uncooked), and no junk food, should give you an observable improvement in your skin within 30 days. Get plenty of sunshine on your arms and legs; sunshine triggers the production of Vitamin D3 which is essential to having healthy skin. Eat foods that contain essential fatty acids.

Good nutrition will help your skin from the inside out. Eating foods with essential fatty acids are particularly important to people with dry skin or acne.

Analyze all the acne treatments available and make the best decision for you, based on your circumstances. One should always think about cheaper, alternative, natural, effective treatment methods to get the best cure or solution to their acne, zits, pimples and blackhead problems. Don’t give up - try everything you can until you get relief from your acne.

Acne in Teen Age Boys and Grown Up Men

You think acne is teenager’s problem? Well, if you do think that way, it’s time you changed your perception for good because acne may be quite a nightmare to a teenager but can give you nearly as much trouble irrespective of how old you are.

Yes, it is true that women worry a great deal about acne while men do not. But that does not mean acne is women’s problem. It affects men every bit as much, if not more. Teenagers are always a vulnerable age group. But even if you are well past the acne-age, which is to say you are not a teenager any more but a grown up guy, you may still be an acne victim for a number of reasons.

If you are prone to acne, there are a few simple things that you can take care of to keep acne trouble at bay. One of them is washing your face twice or thrice everyday. You may use a mild cleanser for the purpose, but choose the one that is meant for your skin type. Such cleansers are made to keep a check on excess oil. However, if you already have acne, avoid rubbing them while washing because that could worsen the problem.

While shaving, use a good blade and a good quality shaving cream because it has been found that though shaving itself does not cause acne but use of bad quality blade or substandard shaving cream may become a contributing factor.

Another cause of acne is stress. Sometimes the teenagers get conscious of their looks and the presence of acne makes them feel low about themselves. Stress is a part of growing up. The teenagers are under pressure to perform well and make a life for themselves. Excessive stress causes acne, and acne problem causes stress, and this becomes a self-fuelling a process.

So, if you are a teenager boy, you need to keep yourself free of stress and pay attention to more important things. Acne problem would disappear automatically. Worrying too much about it would only make it worse.
