Acne Guide: Tips For Curing Cystic Acne

Curing cystic acne in effect means, taking care of the skin properly. Taking care of the skin means giving the skin what it wants, what it deserves. Vitamin D ingredients are essential for the healthy skin. To enable the skin to breathe freely, give it fresh air and sunshine. Oxygen is a great stress reliever. Do it within limitations and don’t go to the sunburn extent. Use a good tanning lotion.

Never think for a moment that body and mind are separate. They are intimately related. The goings in the mind will definitely have a telling effect on the body. So, carefully budget your time and plan your events, to avoid the stress at the last moment. Give a fixed time to your exercise schedule. Yoga asanas and meditation are highly recommended.

You know that the blocked pores are one of the reasons for acne, but do you know what is the reason for the blocked pores? The simple remedy is water. Drink lots of water. Shortage of water in the body leads to dehydration. By doing so, you are causing the pores to be blocked, and extending invitation to acne. Have you ever, realized why you feel so fresh, when you take a bath? It is due to the cleaning of the pores.

There is another school of thought which says that dirt has nothing to do with acne. Since the exact causes of acne are still not known, you can welcome any logic relating to the appearance and growth of acne.

But over washing, over scrubbing the face or any part of the body is to damage the skin. It will result in dry skin. What happens next is creation of more oil. More oil and more dead cells make a mess of it, resulting in blocked pores giving scope for the appearance and growth of acne.

Mind your diet. Since acne is the outward manifestation of the internal purities, take that food which helps to purify the system. Seasonal fruits and seasonal vegetables are the answer. Avoid all those heavy and oily stuff, which are not easily digestible.

What is the best acne treatment?

I dont really have like horrible acne, but I do get a lot of pimples all the time, and you'll never find my face without atleast 5. What is the best face wash/acne treatment to get rid of this?

I have tried proactiv and ance free. Acne free is Easy because you can get it at your local walmart. Proactiv, on the other hand, you have to order. I thought Acne free was a better product. I would apply it before bed, and my acne would be gone the next morning! Or most of it anyway. Proactiv isn't as strong and its more for little bumps, I think. When I use acne free, I feel my skin tingling because it's working on my skin and I know it's doing it's job. Proactiv does not do this for me. Its just my opinion, you have to find whats best for you!

What is the best acne treatment or product?

What is the best acne treatment or product that clears skin fast and doesn’t dry skin. Tell me a product that you have used and it works for you. I have tried many acne creams but they usually dry my skin and create a rash, so my skin is sensitive. Please help me. Thanks!

When your skin is dry, it produces MORE oil to combat the dryness, so that causes your pores to clog and makes you break out.

During the day, use witchazel as a toner, and apple cider vinegar at night (because it stinks, but you’ll get used to it). They will clean your skin without drying it out.

There is no magic potion to get rid of acne; You have to battle it from the inside and out:

STOP eating and drinking foods with refined or artificial sugars, like high fructose corn syrup or aspartame/phenylalanine. Up your vitamin C, A and K. Do some exercise like dancing or yoga. Get a little sun everyday, like about 10 minutes. Drink more water.

Many beauty products on the market have harmful chemicals in them; do your favorite beauty products contain any of these things?:

* Mineral Oil, Paraffin & Petrolatum – Petroleum products coat the skin like plastic, clogging pores and creating a build-up of toxins, which in turn accumulate and can lead to dermatological issues, like slowing cellular development, which can cause you to show earlier signs of aging. Suspected cause of cancer & Disruptive of hormonal activity. By the way, when there’s an oil spill in the ocean, don’t they rush to clean it up – fast? Why put that stuff on your skin?

* Parabens – Widely used as preservatives in the cosmetic industry (including moisturizers). An estimated 13,200 cosmetic and skin care products contain parabens. Studies implicate their connection with cancer. They have hormone-disrupting qualities – mimicking estrogen – and interfere with the body’s endocrine system.

* Phenol carbolic acid– Found in many lotions and skin creams. Can cause circulatory collapse, paralysis, convulsions, coma and even death from respiratory failure.

* Propylene glycol – Used as a moisturizer in cosmetics and as a carrier in fragrance oils. Shown to cause dermatitis, kidney or liver abnormalities, and may inhibit skin cell growth or cause skin irritation.

* Acrylamide– Found in many hand and face creams. Linked to mammary tumors in lab research.

* Sodium laurel or lauryl sulfate (SLS), also known as sodium laureth sulfate (SLES)– Found in car washes, engine degreasers, garage floor cleaners… and in over 90% of personal care products! SLS breaks down the skin’s moisture barrier, easily penetrates the skin, and allows other chemicals to easily penetrate. Combined with other chemicals, SLS becomes a “nitrosamine”, a potent class of carcinogen. It can also cause hair loss. SLES is sometimes disguised with the labeling “comes from coconut” or “coconut-derived

* Toluene – Poison! Danger! Harmful or fatal if swallowed! Harmful if inhaled or absorbed through the skin. Made from petroleum or coal tar, and found in most synthetic fragrances. Chronic exposure linked to anemia, lowered blood cell count, liver or kidney damage, and may affect a developing fetus. Butylated hydroxytoluene (BHT) contains toluene. Other names may include benzoic and benzyl.

* Dioxane– Found in compounds known as PEG, Polysorbates, Laureth, ethoxylated alcohols. Common in a wide range of personal care products. The compounds are usually contaminated with high concentrations of highly volatile 1,4-dioxane, easily absorbed through the skin. Dioxane’s carcinogenicity was first reported in 1965 and later confirmed in studies including one from the National Cancer Institute in 1978. Nasal passages and liver are the most vulnerable. Dioxane is easily removed during the manufacturing process by “vacuum stripping”.

Warning: It is a synthetic derivative of coconut. Watch for hidden language on labels, such as “comes from coconut”.

IF SO, you should throw them away IMMEDIATELY and you can substitute virgin/extra virgin olive oil or a natural coconut oil to moisturize in the meantime until you find a better, natural alternative!!! Tell ALL your friends and family!!!

Acne Treatment - Remove Acne Scars Through Herbal Ways

What is Acne?

Acne is a common skin condition characterized by plugged pores (blackheads and whiteheads), pimples that occur on the face, neck, chest, back, shoulders and even upper arms.

Acne commonly starts in the early teen years, when the oil glands in the body start secreting excess sebum (oil).

Although acne is usually not a serious health threat, it can be a source of significant emotional distress. Severe acne can lead to permanent scarring.

Who gets acne?

# Anyone can get acne, but it is most common in teenagers. It may be worse in boys because they have more skin oils.

# Changing hormone levels in adolescent girls and adult women two to seven days before their menstrual period starts.

# Heredity also plays a role. If your mother and father had bad acne, you may too get it.

# Some people are extra sensitive to the bacteria that are trapped in their hair follicles.

What causes acne?

The exact cause of acne is unknown, but doctors believe it results from several related factors.

One important factor is an increase in hormones called androgens (male sex hormones). These hormones increase in both boys and girls during puberty and cause the sebaceous glands to enlarge and secrete more sebum. Hormonal changes related to pregnancy; starting or stopping of birth control pills can also cause acne in women.

Another factor is heredity. Researchers believe that the tendency to develop acne can be inherited from parents.

Certain cosmetics and drugs, including androgens, are known to cause acne. Greasy cosmetics may alter the cells of the follicles and make them stick together, giving rise to a plugged pore.

Environmental factors, such as grease, pollution and dirt.

Stress and tension – related to hormonal change.

Does acne in women become worse before periods?

Yes. Due to hormonal changes during menstruation, many women get acne two to seven days before their periods. This gets heightened in teenage years as lot of hormonal changes take place at this time.

Factors that can make acne worse -

Factors that can cause an acne flare include:

• Changing hormonal levels in adolescents. In girls and adult women, before their menstrual period starts

• Oil from cosmetics, skin products or grease

• Pressure from garments, helmets, sports gear, tight elastic

• Environmental irritants, such as pollution and high humidity

• Hard scrubbing of the skin

What kind of clothes/cosmetics affect acne?

If there is constant pressure resulting from headbands, bra straps, waist bands, it could cause acne eruption in those areas of the skin.

Certain cosmetics could lead to blackhead formation in the skin. Avoid hair oils, which induce blackheads and whiteheads along your hairline. Some people are also sensitive to suntan lotions.

Does acne cause scars?

Acne, especially cystic acne, can cause scars in some people. You can help reduce scarring by not squeezing blemishes. Also, avoid scrubbing your skin. If you do get scars, treatment is available.

Some truths about acne:

What is the name of this new acne treatment?

I just saw this new acne treatment on TV, but I can't remember the name of it. The treatment is supposed to be customizable for different skin types. It is not proactive. It's New. Has anyone heard of it? If so, what is the name?

is it dermabrasion

What is the best acne treatment to get rid of persistent acne?

My girlfriend has sensitive skin that tends to dry out very quickly when using harsh products, however she has some moderate acne on her face which can be painful at times. She's looking for a kit to get rid of this, but cannot decide on one. What have you guys used that has helped you?
My girlfriend isn't a pig, and junk food and soda does not cause acne. ;o

I used to have it really bad and used about every product there is to get rid of it. They didn't work. So I went to the doctors with it, they gave me some tablets for it and now it is almost gone. It had nothing to do with hygiene or my face not being clean. So I just take the tablets and use freederm. I now almost have clear skin. But the tablets are a long term treatment.
") hope I helped

Acne Myths, Finally Some Facts

Acne is a common skin condition, which can be extremely mild or quite
disfiguring. Having had a rather bad case as a young adolescent, I know
the kind of socially embarrassing consequences it can have for the
victim but I also remember it being sore and painful, filling my life
with discomfort. It lingered a long time until I went to a
dermatologist who used a type of freezing process, mechanically
removing excessive puss from the lesions in relatively non-painful way.
There were also topical notions. The result was total success, without
scarring.

Until I went to a dermatologist, though, there was little or no gain in
getting rid of this foul condition. I, like other children, were
subject to disturbing concepts of its origins. Although this was a long
time ago, these myths have stayed around- often causing grave delays in
seeking treatment.

One of the myths is that acne is caused by everyday dirt and surface
oil on the skin and that the solution is frequent and vigorous washing
of the skin. Vigorous washing of the face to cure acne is a myth. The
fact is- the problems that have caused chronic acne are deeper, beneath
the skin’s surface and that only a mild washing of the face is in
order, often accompanied with specific solutions prescribed for
treating the acne by a dermatologist.
Vigorous washing of the face, particularly with harsh soaps, can lead to a further irritation of the tissue.
There is, in part, a bacteriological condition that contributes to acne and it is below the surface.

Another idea is that acne is caused by stress. Scientific research
seems to indicate that stress alone probably does not lead to acne, but
it may be aggravated by stress. But, unfortunately, acne can result
from certain prescriptions that are used to treat stress. So, if you
are on certain drugs related to stress, you should certain talk to your
dermatologist, the appropriate type of physician for dealing with this
problem. According to Doctor James Fulton, a pioneer in the treatment
of acne, lithium, a substance sometimes used in profound psychological
disorders,  can aggravate an acne condition.

Another myth that can lead to profoundly unpleasant consequences is
that one should let acne run its course, “grow out of it.” As I myself
know too well, acne can linger for years and get worse and worse. At
the end of my experience, my acne was very disfiguring and covered my
whole face and part of my neck. It was hard to keep my hands off this
uncomfortable, scaly, itchy and sore condition.  I was certainly a
candidate for scarring. I had a kind of skin emergency and I am glad
that my parents were smart enough and lucky enough to get me to the
right place at the right time.

Can acne be the consequence of poor nutrition? I think the jury may be
out on this one, but, for myself, I came to believe that my excessive
eating of chocolate and a lot of sugar products were contributing
factors to my acne. But, in my case, I did not see any correlation
before my medical treatment and it was clearly medical intervention
that helped me. There are certainly many naturopathically oriented
practitioners and some medical doctors that share this view, though.
Not everything in medicine is a hundred percent clear cut and every
acne victim should certainly research all the alternatives.
